BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (AP) -- Police have offered a $1,000 reward for information related to a package bomb that exploded and seriously injured three members of a South Texas family.

Brownsville police spokesman J.J. Treviño said Wednesday tips can be made anonymously in the attempted capital murder case.

Treviño says investigators on Tuesday spoke with 30-year-old Iviz Machado but obtained only basic information.

He says that 26-year-old Jesus Juarez remained under heavy medication and could not talk. Both were being treated at a San Antonio burn center.

Treviño says the couple's daughter, 5-year-old Andrea Juarez, remained in critical, but stable condition at a Galveston hospital.

The family found a package outside their home last Friday morning, took it inside and opened it. One of several explosive devices inside detonated.
