Crime marks third fireworks stand robbery in one week's time

Authorties are searching for a group of suspects who robbed a fireworks stand north of Weslaco.

It all happened at a stand off Westgate Drive and Mile 10 North around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies reported that armed men made off an an iPod and the stand's cash box.

The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a brown Pontiac Grand Am.

It's not clear if these are the same suspects who robbed two fireworks stands north of Donna on Tuesday night.

Two of the suspects were described as wearing black sweatshirts and weighing about a 170 pounds.

The third suspect was wearing an organge sweater and weighed about 200 pounds.

They were all last seen heading north on Westgate Drive, which is also known as Mile 6 West.
