As the clouds parted to allow more sunshine Sunday, temperatures rose to near 80 degrees across the RGV.

Temperatures are expected to continue to rise to the mid 80's on Monday with a forecast of mostly sunny skies.

Monday night the cloud cover will return as a cold front pushes into South Texas overnight bringing showers to the valley early Tuesday morning.

The cloud cover is expected to linger for a few days but little if any rain is expected after the frontal passage.

Overnight temepratures will fall back into the 50's Wednesday morning but temperatures will soon level off with lows in the 60's and highs back in the 80's by Thursday.
