A Port Isabel man is behind bars after authorities allegedly found child pornography on his desktop and laptop computers.

Cameron County District Attorney’s Office investigators charged 53-year-old Billy Joe Jeffers on a child pornography charge on Tuesday.

Court records released Wednesday show that it all started when the FBI raided Jeffers’ home.

FBI agents allegedly found 11 images and six videos on his desktop computer and another 13 images and four videos on his laptop.

Jeffers appeared before Cameron County Magistrate Court Judge Luis Saenz on Wednesday where he was issued a $75,000 dollar bond.

The Port Isabel man did not appear to have a previous criminal record.
