Almost all expectant parents have spent the time during their pregnancy preparing for their baby’s arrival.

From setting up the nursery to thinking of names, the list is endless!

But nothing is more important than going to the doctor and making sure the baby is healthy.

One thing they may not be expecting is a premature birth, and it’s more common than you think.

Kristen Padavic, whose twins were born at 30-weeks, and Dr. Mitchell Goldstein, joined Sunrise via SKYPE this morning to discuss National Preemie Awareness Month.

According to statistics, 1 in 8 babies are born prematurely in the U.S.; or 13 million worldwide.

Padavic opens up about her experience; while Dr. Goldstein discusses premature births in this interview.
