Friday, April 12, 2013  While the 8th-ranked Pharr Valley View boys soccer team staged an amazing comeback win over Dripping Springs at the 4A regional semifinals in Corpus Christi, the Los Fresnos girls fell to San Antonio Johnson in the Falcons' 3rd appearance at the 5A regional tournament in the past 4 seasons.

Saturday, February 23, 2013  Rio Grande City wrestler Lisa Gonzalez is the Valley's newest state champion, taking home the gold medal at 148 pounds from the UIL tournament in Austin. Minutes after winning the title, Lisa joined Action 4 Sports reporter Joe Bowling live during Action 4 News at 6pm. Lisa was one of 5 local wrestlers who came home with medals, the Valley's best ever showing in that sport.
