VALLEY BIZ BLOG: 115 More Jobs For Harlingen Call Center

Some 115 new jobs are coming to Harlingen by the end of the year.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry made an announcement in Irving this morning that will trickle down to the Rio Grande Valley.

Gov. Perry and United HealthCare announced the company is adding close to 1,500 jobs in the Lone Star State.

Some 800 jobs are going to a facility in Irving while another 330 jobs to a pharmacy management center in Sugar Land.

Another 250 jobs will go to San Antonio while 115 jobs are coming to the Harlingen call center.

Details about the application process weren’t immediately available but company officials said the Harlingen call center will employ a total of 500 people by the end of the year.

The UnitedHealth Group currently employs almost 11,000 people in Texas.
