Harlingen area residents will soon have another dining option for steak.

The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced that the LongHorn Steakhouse is coming to town.

The $3 million dollar steakhouse is expected to be built in the Cameron Crossing shopping center across from the Bass Pro Shops.

There are no construction or completion dates yet but EDC officials told Action 4 News that 5,600-square foot restaurant will employ 30 people and seat 204 guests.

LongHorn Steakhouse will join Logan's and Texas Roadhouse as steak dining options for the area.

The original LongHorn Steakhouse opened in Atlanta back in 1982 but today, the chain is owned by the Orlando-based Darden Restaurants, Inc.

There are some 370 LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants in 35 states.

Of those 370 restuarants, there are 18 in Texas. Two of those 18 restaurants are in the Rio Grande Valley in McAllen.
