A Harlingen teen was arrested on Thursday after he assaulted a woman and caused damage to several cars in his neighborhood.
Police responded to a call around 4:30 a.m. about a man pushing and scratching his common law wife.
The caller said that Juan Ortega had a kitchen knife in his possession. They also said the couple was arguing over stolen property.
Harlingen police said that the 18-year-old left the house, walked down Lazy Palm Dr North, and punched neighbor’s cars.
Ortega also threw a water hose spray into the front window of a neighbor's home.
Police took the teen into custody.
His bond for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon was set at $35,000.
His bond for two counts of Criminal Mischief charges totaled $2,000.
