Teacher suspended amid providing alcohol to minors allegations

An Economedes High School teacher has been suspended with pay.

Edinburg CISD officials have confirmed that the teacher is accused of providing alcohol to minors at a school sponsored event.

The teacher's name is not being released at this time.

Edinburg CISD's superintendent confirms school district police learned about the alleged activity today and are still trying to gather details.

The alleged incident happened at a school-sponsored event in San Antonio before Spring Break.

No further details were released.
