One person is being held for questioning after an illegal immigrant chase that ended with a crash at an orchard where workers were picking grapefruit.

The chase started in Peñitas and ended at an orchard off Mile 3 and Minnesota Road north of Palmview around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Peñitas police told Action 4 News that it all started when an officer tried to pull over a navy blue Ford 150 extended cab truck off Expressway 83 and Tom Gil Road.

The driver lead police on a chase that ended in the orchard where workers were busy picking grapefruit.

Investigators said at least one dozen people bailed out of the truck.

Officers arrested one person at the scene. That person is being held for questioning.
