It's the middle of the school year, which means many seniors and juniors are testing and looking into school to begin filling out those applications!

Action 4 Sunrise was joined by counselors from the South Texas Independent School District's Science Academy gave sound advice on how to prepare for the big transition.

If you're wondering what you or your child should be doing at this point of their education, there is a checklist to go by.

First, find five schools your child is interested in and look over the applications. Second, It's never too early to fill out financial aid paperwork so you know how much it will cost. Third, scholarships can play a key role in aiding your family in college expenses so apply for as many as applicable. Fourth, remain focused on getting your child to college and always seek help from a counselor if you have any questions about the process.
