Share Your Christmas
Action 4 News, six-time winner of the Texas Association of Broadcaster’s Public Service Station of the Year, will be hosting its 3rd annual Share Your Christmas food and toy drive on Thursday, December 10, 2009.
Action 4 News will broadcast live from its studio at 9201 W. Expressway 83 in Harlingen, the HEB at Paredes Line in Brownsville, and HEB Plus in Mission.
We’ll be asking the community to donate non-perishable food items to benefit the Food Bank RGV and new, unwrapped toys to benefit Toys 4 Tots.
Each year, the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley distributes more than 21-million pounds of food.
Just this past year, because of Hurricane Dolly, the Food Bank distributed more than 1 million pounds of food in an 8-day period.
The Food Bank is in desperate need of your donations in order to continue helping families in need throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
The U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program works tirelessly during the holiday season to put smiles on children’s faces.
They collect tens of thousands of new, unwrapped toys for the children of the Rio Grande Valley.
They need your help to fulfill their mission and ensure that every child can have a Merry Christmas.
On December 10, 2009, come by one of our three locations with your donations. Large donations will be showcased on Action 4 News during our live broadcast.
Business or civic organizations which have holiday toy or canned food drives are encouraged to bring their items to donate on-air.
Please contact us in advance to plan for your donation.
Thank you in advance for your support.
